Paweł Tucholski, the beloved Polish actor, singer and voice artist, passed away on October 30, 2026, at the age of 57. His death was announced through Radio Żnin FM, which received the news from his family. His passing has saddened Poland’s entertainment and theatre communities, as well as generations of viewers who grew up recognising his distinctive voice. Born on February 6, 1969, in Żnin, Poland, he leaves behind a remarkable artistic legacy. 
Tucholski developed his passion for performance at a young age, beginning with the local Albert Tison Theatre in Żnin. He later studied at the Vocal Studio in Poznań and graduated from the State Higher School of Theatre in Warsaw. His dedication to acting and music earned him recognition, including awards at the Festival of Actors’ Song in Wrocław. He went on to perform with several respected theatre companies, building a career that spanned more than three decades.
For many audiences, his most unforgettable contribution was his voice work in beloved animated films. He voiced the adult Simba in the Polish version of Disney’s The Lion King and brought Aladdin to life in the Polish adaptations of the animated film and television series. These performances became part of the childhood memories of countless Polish viewers. His work on television also included appearances in productions such as Klan, Złotopolscy, Kryminalni and Barwy szczęścia.
Beyond film and dubbing, Tucholski was deeply connected to musical theatre. He performed in productions including Chicago, Jekyll & Hyde and Jesus Christ Superstar, where he portrayed Caiaphas for many years. In 2014, he also took part in the first season of the Polish entertainment programme Twoja twarz brzmi znajomo, finishing fifth. Just three days before his death, the Tadeusz Różewicz City Theatre in Gliwice announced that he had joined its permanent acting company, making his sudden passing especially painful for colleagues who had been looking forward to working with him.
